Study medication types by drug class and type using these free flashcards!
If you, as a student, purchase our new Medication Aide Handbook, you’ll receive access to a handful of free flashcard sets including medical abbreviations, route and administration review, drug classes and more.
We decided it was unfair to keep all the good stuff locked inside our textbook (which we highly recommend if you’re studying for the MACE), and are releasing one set of cards free. This includes the common drug classes and examples of medications in those class.
Since this was originally meant for Medication Aides and CNAs with med passing privileges, we only included oral and topical medications. While these flashcards won’t cover everything you need in a Nursing pharmacology class, they will help pre-nursing students get a handle on what medications do what in a body.
Each card includes examples of medications in that class, common side effects, and the general mechanism of action (which is just a fancy way of saying ‘how the medication works’).
