Discover how we're working to bridge the gap in qualified nurses and healthcare providers. Over 70,000 qualified nurses were turned away from nursing schools in the United States last year alone, exacerbating the shortage. With declining admissions in Baccalaureate nursing programs, it's crucial to take action to ensure equitable and accessible education for aspiring nurses.
The Growing Gap in Qualified Nurses
Over 70,000 qualified nurses were turned away from nursing schools last year in the United States alone as the gap between those entering and exiting the profession becomes larger. Admissions in Baccalaureate nursing programs are down ~1% YoY at a time when we need nurses and frontline healthcare providers more than ever. This statistic has been accurate for over a decade: thousands of potential nurses and healthcare providers are turned away before they ever get a chance to try. This ongoing trend is a problem.
Breaking Down the Barrier: Admissions Assessments
Admissions assessments are an inherent barrier to entry altogether - the cost of the exam and preparation material give many students one chance. We want to change this with our unwavering belief that education should be equitable, affordable, and accessible.
Leveling the Playing Field for Future Healthcare Practitioners
We have created an opportunity to level the playing field for future nurses and healthcare practitioners. Our reporting methodology also provides recommendations for students that perform below the desired cut score and can still benefit from learning in a different part of the ecosystem - Physical Therapy, Surgical Technology, Medical Assisting, the list is long of professions that contribute to quality patient care every day that might better suit your applicants.
